In 2003, the Blanca Li Company was invited by the Opéra de Massy to be in resident company for 3 years. In 2004, she created Alarme for the Biennale de la Danse in Lyon, and Al Andalus, a programme of classical ballet. In 2006, the choreographer restaged her hip-hop musical Macadam Macadam at Massy’s Opera. Also performed at the Théâtre Mogador in Paris, the show received the 2007 Globe de Cristal in the best opera/ballet category. Corazón Loco, formed to a contemporary score by Edith Canat de Chizy and the vocal ensemble Sequenza 9.3, was produced in 2007 at the Théâtre National de Chaillot. Since 2006, Blanca Li has been the artistic director of the Andaluz Dance Centre in Seville. Her show based on Garcia Lorca’s Poeta en Nueva York attracted more than 60,000 visitors during the Summerfestival in Granada in 2007. Blanca Li was made Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite by the French Ministry of Culture and received the Manuel de Falla Award in recognition of her career as a choreographer.
