Dear Colleagues,
Companhia de Dança Deborah Colker have landed in the UK ready for the start of their tour at Hall for Cornwall, Truro. Still haven't got your tickets yet? Check out where the tour stops and don't miss out on the opportunity to see CRUEL.
Deborah Colker and her company of `exceptional´ dancers (The Guardian) return to UK with their latest work, CRUEL. CRUEL, will be shown 34 times in the UK and Lyon from April until July 2010 (see dates below). We are currently planning the return of the Company to Europe for autumn 2011, so in case you are interested in the company, this spring there are plenty of opportunities to see them live.
Please do let us know if you are planning to come and see one of the performances or whether you are interested in further material on CRUEL.
"Deborah Colker is the most versatile and intellectual of the talented Brazilian choreographers. This is reflected in her work which never fails to surprise with its diversity and brilliance and all are little masterpieces."
Cruel is an open-ended series of narrative elements that only become complete under the gaze of a spectator. Bodies in movement that invite deciphering. Ordinary stories that invariably repeat themselves in people’s lives, that involve love, lovers and family bonds. Almost always, these are cruel stories. This was how the new performance, Cruel, was born.
Colker’s work is renowned across the world for the incredible skill and concentration it demands of her Brazilian dancers. Not only do they move with feather light grace and precision, but also with a touch of daring acrobatics and athleticism which leaves audiences astounded and exhilarated. It’s this ability to combine the passionate with the sublime which makes a performance by Companhia de Dança Deborah Colke a truly unforgettable experience.
