«Poeta en Nueva York» by Blanca Li

For Blanca Li, it is an occasion to stage the great singer Carmen Linares, the dancer Andres Marin,
herself, a group of ten flamenco and jazz musicians,
and twenty dancers from contemporary, flamenco
and hip hop background. The theme is the cultural
shock faced by Federico Garcia Lorca during
his travel from native Granada to New York
and La Havana in 1929-1930, during the
economical crisis. It is a very strong
source of inspiration and energy for
Blanca, who herself is a native from
Granada and has studied in NY.
